Certificate for return to the Republic of Kazakhstan

Certificate for return to the Republic of Kazakhstan is issued by diplomatic missions or Consulates of the Republic of Kazakhstan to citizens of Kazakhstan, who have lost their identity documents during their stay abroad.

Thus, to obtain a certificate for return to the Republic of Kazakhstan, citizens of Kazakhstan in case of lost of their identity documents during their stay in Japan should contact the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Japan submit the following documents:

1. application (download);

2. 2 photos, size 3.5 x 4.5 cm;

3. certificate from the Police about the loss / theft of documents with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian;

4. any ID with photo (certified copies of IDs, driver's license, etc., confirming the identity of the applicant);

5. Consular fee – money order for the amount of 10 USD;

For underaged children submit a similar package of documents separately.

In some cases, the Consular Office submits a request to the competent authorities of Kazakhstan. Also, at the discretion of the Consular Officer, additional documents may be requested from the applicant.

A certificate for return to the Republic of Kazakhstan is valid for one-way trip and is issued for a period not exceeding three months from the date of issue.

Within three days from the moment of arrival to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the applicant is obliged to hand in a Certificate to the Department of Internal Affairs (Migration Police) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In accordance with Article 629 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the paid amount of consular fee is non refundable.
