Kazakh Ambassador to Thailand Raushan Yesbulatovaand the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand WeerasakKowsurat met to discuss theexpansion of cooperation between the two countries.
The Kazakh diplomat drew the Minister's attention to the presence of direct flightsfrom Bangkok to Astana and Kazakhstan's cultural center – the city of Almaty, which provides the tourists from Thailand with a unique opportunity to plunge into the diversity of Kazakhstan's nature, from spacious steppes to magnificent mountains.
Particular attentionwas paid to the issue of establishinga visa-free regime for citizens of both countries. In this regard, it was requested to assist in speeding up the consideration process of the draft Agreement, which will contribute to increasing the tourist flow between countries.
Active cooperation in the field of sportswas also emphasized. It was noted that Kazakh and Thai athletes regularly take part in competitions and trainings, such as the Asian Youth Boxing Championship, which recently took place in Bangkok.
The Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand was briefed on the main provisions of President Nursultan Nazarbayev'sState-of-the-Nation Address titled “New Development Opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, the Five Social Initiatives of the President, the “RuhaniZhangyru” Program, the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan, as well as the celebration ofAstana 20thAnniversary and this year's Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
