Ambassador Raushan Yesublatova held a meeting with Professor Bundhit Eua-arporn, Technology science Doctor, President of Chulalongkorn University of Thailand in order to implement the agreements reached during the Third meeting of the Kazakhstan-Thai intergovernmental commission on expansion cooperation in the field of education.
During the talks, the sides confirmed their intention to further expand cooperation with Nazarbayev University, the national brand of higher education in Kazakhstan, which combines the advantages of the national education system and the best world scientific and educational practice.
The head of the University was informed about the domestic education system of Kazakhstan as well as about the opinion of the Nation Leader N.Nazarbayev emphasizing that knowledge and professional skills are key areas of the modern education system, training and retraining of personnel as it is mentioned in the "Kazakhstan-2050" strategy. It was pointed out that the level of literacy of the population of Kazakhstan is 99.6% and Kazakhstan's rating is almost in the top ten in the world.
In his turn, the President of Chulalongkorn B.Eua-arporn noted that as a result of systematic work, the Thai University maintained a mutual dialogue with "Nazarbayev University" on the participation of academic teaching staff and students in the organized conferences.
During the conversation, the head of the Thai university was acquainted with the social and economic situation in Kazakhstan and the main provisions of the Addresses of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan "New Development Opportunities in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution", "Five Social Initiatives of the President", the Rukhani Zhangyru Program, the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan and others.
Being the oldest university in Thailand, the University was founded by the decree of King Chulalongkorn in 1917, located in the famous Grand Royal Palace in Bangkok. The institution conducts extensive educational, research activities and is recognized as the best university in Thailand in many aspects. According to World University Ranking, the University holds 45th position in Asia in graduate employability ranking. This is the only Thai university which is a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).
The university comprises 12 faculties, a School of Agriculture, 3 colleges, 10 institutes and others.
Graduates traditionally receive their diplomas personally from the King of Thailand.
