Welcome message from the Ambassador
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Singapore.
Diplomatic relations between our countries were established on March 30, 1993. Since then, Kazakhstan and Singapore have become very close partners building up bilateral relations on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, open and inclusive dialogue at every level, win-win approach to all initiatives.
This approach is very natural as our countries share the basic values of peaceful coexistence and foreign policy, nuclear weapons free world, richness in diversity, interethnic and interfaith harmony, rule of law, and many other universal principles. Kazakhstan pays great attention to promoting further bilateral cooperation with Singapore for the benefit of our people and the whole world, bringing our nations and regions closer through better connectivity and free trade.
As the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, I would like to highlight to the Singaporean visitors of the site some of the benefits of cooperation with Kazakhstan. Our country is the 9th largest country in the world with huge mineral reserves, rich nature, highly educated and united people. Being historically the major route for the Great Silk Road Kazakhstan nowadays plays key role in the Belt and Road initiative connecting East and West, Europe and Asia. Being located in geostrategic location Kazakhstan has access to the market of markets of China, Russia, Central and South Asia, Caucasus and Iran. Launch of the Astana International Financial Centre and common law practices facilitate the entrance and operation of foreign investors in Kazakhstan and the region.
As a member of the Eurasian Economic Union Kazakhstan looks for FTA with Singapore to be signed by the end of 2019.
The opportunities for economic cooperation between our countries are enormous. Especially in times of technological and informational transformation. Kazakhstan aspires for the successful realization of huge creative potential of its people and entrance into the club of 30 most developed countries in the world. Singapore’s miracle is still very attractive to our country. In particular, the experience in management and implementing high standards of living.
Moreover, Kazakhstan is still to be discovered as a new touristic pilgrimage destination by Singaporeans. In Kazakhstan everybody could find the attraction according to his/her interests. From luxury resorts to extreme adventurous travels. Winter or summer, spring or autumn. Citizens of Singapore may enter and exit Kazakhstan without issuing visas if the period of stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days.
