Book Launch: The Epicenter of Peace, Norwegian translation

We welcome you to the official book launch of the Norwegian translation of The Epicenter of Peace, by Nursultan Nazarbayev.

This event will draw on Kazakhstan’s international commitment to disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation.


The Epicenter of Peace describes how the people of Kazakhstan reached the decision to rid themselves of nuclear weapons and argues that peace will come only through nonproliferation and denuclearization. A significant part of the book concentrates on the history and horrendous consequences of hundreds nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site in East Kazakhstan. The author is Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of Kazakhstan.

The book will be introduced by H.E. Ambassador Yerkin Akhinzhanov, followed by speeches from the co-writers of the books preface, H.E. Kjell Magne Bondevik and Sverre Lodgaard.
