Workshop on the implementation of the provisions of the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation was held in Nur-Sultan

On May 20-22, 2019 a workshop on the implementation of the provisions of the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation was held in Nur-Sultan.

The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) with assistance of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN Office in Geneva.

The workshop addressed the issues of implementation of trade facilitation in the countries of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), such as reducing the number of transport and trade documents required, establishing electronic commerce, international standards, single window and monitoring mechanisms to simplify trade and transport procedures.

The workshop was attended by the representatives of the Ministries of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Agriculture and Finance of the SPECA countries, Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken", Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, as well as experts from UNECE, GIZ and UNESCAP.
