Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan held meeting with representatives of the WEF

On 26-27 February 2018 the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov held meeting with representatives of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in order to strengthen cooperation and discuss issues of improving Kazakhstan's position in the rating of the WEF Global Competitiveness Index (GCI WEF).

During the meeting Minister T. Suleimenov expressed his hope for further strengthening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the WEF. The head of the delegation stressed that Kazakhstan is aimed at further diversifying national economy and increasing its rating in the Report of the GCI WEF.

In turn, representatives of the WEF noted the successful development and strengthening of partnership between Kazakhstan and the WEF.

The sides exchanged information on the methodology for calculating indicators and the work of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the indicators of the GCI WEF.

Within the framework of the visit to Geneva, the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan T. Suleimenov also held a number of bilateral meetings with the management of the WEF, in particular, with the WEF President B. Brende, the Head of the WEF Initiative "The Future of Production" H. Leurent, the Head of Business engagement of Europe and Eurasia T. Kalashnikova and the Head of the WEF Division of Eurasia A. Kalinina.

The meetings held with the WEF showed high mutual interest in expanding existing cooperation and searching for new areas of interaction between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the WEF, including potential joint projects.
