E-commerce week in Geneva

During the period from April 1 to 5, 2019, in Geneva (Swiss Confederation), an e-commerce week is held under the auspices of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). This annual event is a leading forum for Ministers, senior government officials, CEOs and other business representatives, international organizations, development banks, academics and civil society to discuss the development opportunities and challenges associated with the digital economy.

This year's theme “From Digitalization to Development" will in particular emphasize the need to strengthen e-commerce support at all levels as a driver for sustainable economic growth and also to elimination of barriers to the effective contribution of e-commerce towards sustainable development.

Representatives of the JSC “Center for Trade Policy Development" under the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan are participate in the E-Commerce Week.

Kazakhstan representatives will take part in a high-level dialogue on the main topic a High-level Dialogue on the topic of the week: From Digitalization to Development and the 3rd Session of Intergovernmental Group of Experts on E-commerce and the Digital Economy. The session will discuss key issues such as the role of data in e-commerce and the digital economy and its implications for inclusive trade and development.
