Kazakhstan organized a cultural exhibition within the framework of the WIPO Assemblies

On September 25, 2018 within the regular series of meetings of the Assemblies of the Member-States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), an inaugural ceremony of the regional exhibition of the countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe took place.

The exhibition entitled "Cultural Convergence: Unity in Diversity" aims to raise awareness of the world community about the traditional and craft cultures of the region.

The event was co-organized by Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Upon opening the exhibition, the Director General of WIPO Francis Gurry highly appreciated the level of cooperation and contribution of the countries of the region in the work of the Organization. He also stressed the importance of measures and initatives aimed at preserving cultural and traditional values and national identity.

On behalf of the countries participating in the exhibition, Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Natalya Pan underscored the important role of public events during the WIPO Assemblies, which turned into a good tradition to demonstrate the elements of the cultural heritage of various Member States.

The Republic of Kazakhstan, as items of the exhibition, presented dombra and kobyz as important elements of the country's historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the participants of the event were invited to try koumiss and shubat.
