NUR-SULTAN - June 5 marked the 27th anniversary of the opening of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN. The corresponding Presidential Decree was signed on June 5, in 1992. Ever since, Kazakhstan has been actively involved in the work of the UN and its specialized bodies.

Special attention is paid to strengthening multilateral cooperation in the protection of peace and security, disarmament, the economy, the environment, social development, the progressive development of international law, respect for human rights, in the fight against terrorism, organized crime and drug trafficking.

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN demonstrates high dynamics. Kazakhstan actively participates in the work of multilateral structures at the global and regional levels.

To strengthen partnership at the regional level, on May 1, 2019, Kazakhstan Government opened the House of International Organizations in Almaty, which has 16 UN agencies with regional, subregional and multi-country mandates.
