Kazakhstan took part in the 110th session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration in Geneva
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanar Aitzhanova attended the 110th Council Session of IOM in Geneva.
173 members of IOM unanimously accepted the Lebanese Republic in the ranks as a new member of the IOM.
The issues on fulfilling the obligations of the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Legal Migration, which is the first international mechanism for cooperation on migration issues discussed at the session. It was the result of a comprehensive process of discussion and negotiation between all UN Member States, nonetheless, plans for implementing the state migration policy of member states were also discussed.
In her statement to the session participants Zh.Aitzhanova informed about the ongoing balanced migration policy in Kazakhstan, in particular, the Concept of Migration Policy for 2017-2021 approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In custody, the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan assured that the Government of Kazakhstan hopes to strengthen mutually beneficial international cooperation both at the regional and global levels, and also intends to continue to contribute to migration policy.
