On July 3, 2017 Mrs. Zhanar Aitzhanova, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation has met Mrs. Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation.
During the meeting current situation and perspectives of Kazakhstan and Switzerland cooperation, as well as the upcoming on August 11 visit of the Swiss President to Astana were discussed.
Meetings with the leadership of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Swiss companies presented in the country and participation at the National Day of Switzerland on Expo 2017 will take place throughout the visit.
Both sides noted that the year 2017 is one of the active and fruitful in terms of bilateral cooperation. Three Federal ministers, other high ranking officials and representatives of the Swiss universities and business are expected to visit Kazakhstan. Bilateral regional and energy cooperation, as well as collaboration in the area education between universities of two countries has also been discussed.
In her turn, Zhanar Aitzhanova shared with the international initiatives of Kazakhstan, on-going economic modernization of the country and plans to establish an International Centre for Green Technology and Investment on the premises of Expo 2017.
At the end of the meeting the Swiss President expressed confidence that the upcoming visit to Astana will give a strong impetus to further development of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic and science spheres.
