The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain, Konstantin Zhigalov, has presented credentials to King Felipe VI.
The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Spanish monarch and his father King Juan Carlos I.He once again thanked King Felipe VI on behalf of the President for warmly congratulating the Kazakh Head of State on his birthday, as well as on the 20th anniversary of Astana.
In turn, the King said that he warmly remembers his visit to Kazakhstan and his participation in the opening ceremony of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, Josep Borrell. The parties discussed issues related to bilateral relations and international problems and noted the friendly and dynamically developing nature of Kazakh-Spanish relations based on the Treaty on Strategic Partnership signed in 2009.
Particular attention was paid to the development of trade and economic ties.The importance of platformssuch as the Kazakh-Spanish Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council was emphasized.The regular meetings of the Business Council will be held on September 27 in Astana.
King Felipe VI highly appreciated the fruitful efforts of Kazakhstan in the sphere of international diplomacy, highlighting the country's activities in the UN Security Council and efforts to strengthen interreligious dialogue. In this regard, the Monarch wished Kazakhstan the successful organisation of the VI Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana.
