Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan interested in expanding cooperation in bilateral and regional formats

On July 16, 2014 during an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov was received by President Almazbek Atambayev. Mr. Idrisov conveyed best wishes of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the leader of a neighboring state and the brotherly Kyrgyz people.

Parties held a pleasant and warm meeting, during which they discussed topical international and bilateral issues. Increased attention has been given to thejoint maintaining regional stability and security, the process of accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, intensification of Kazakh-Kyrgyz trade and economic cooperation.   

Kyrgyz President separately focused on the prospects for further development of his country, and also praised the visionary leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, which ensures the progressive increase in the socio-economic performance and living standards in Kazakhstan. Atambayev said he expects a fruitful visit and talks with his Kazakh counterpart in Astana in November this year.

In his turn the KazakhForeign Minister informed A.Atambaev on the priorities of the political and socio-economic development of the country in accordance with the Strategy "Kazakhstan-2050". It was noted that Kazakhstan was interested in sustainable development of all countries of the region and intended to continue its efforts to achieve this goal.
