On 7th of December 2017 Talgat Kaliyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of South Africa, Dean of the Asian Group of Heads of Missions attended the Interactive Session with H.E. Ms. Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa.
Ambassador Kaliyev thanked Head of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation for all her efforts in making stay of diplomatic missions in Pretoria comfortable. He emphasized the commitment of the Asian Group to promote further political trade and investment relations with South Africa, which is considered as the economic gates to the whole African continent.
The Head of the Diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan expressed his satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations with South Africa. Perspectives with South Africa on the main points of the global agenda are very close. Kazakhstan and South Africa share common vision of international security and have common objectives in eradication of poverty and economic inequality.
Kazakhstan fully supports the Agenda 2063, which offers enormous opportunities for the African continent, such as development of infrastructure, energy, transport, information and communications technologies.
Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of wider South-South cooperation. It has great potential to accelerate poverty eradication and tackle economic inequality in developing countries as well as to promote peace and stability.
Ambassador marked that gender equality and the empowerment of women is among the most critical goals for Kazakhstan and it is determined to contribute to eradication of all forms of discrimination against women across the world.
Kaliyev informed on the priorities of Kazakhstan during it's chairmanship in the United Nations Security Council in January 2018 and outlined Kazakhstan's commitments to promote peace and sustainable development in Africa and to stand for elimination of root causes of wars and conflicts on the continent.
