Last week in San Jose Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Canada Konstantin Zhigalov as the special representative of Kazakhstan took part in the Inauguration Ceremony of the newly elected President of Costa Rica Luis Guillermo Solís. Ambassador Zhigalov delivered the congratulatory message from President of Kazakhstan NursultanNazarbayev and expressed the hope for successful development of ties between Kazakhstan and Costa Rica.
Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Zhigalov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica Manuel González Sanz. They discussed prospective areas of bilateral relations and noted the importance of cooperation on the international arena, especially in the area of promoting nuclear security and disarmament, where both countries have received praise of the international community. Representatives of Costa Rica also expressed the interest in the ATOM Project, launched by Kazakhstan’s President NursultanNazarbayev in 2012, as well as measures to strengthen dialogue of civilizations on the example of hosting Congresses of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana.
