Ambassador of Kazakhstan met Director General for Eurasia of the Iranian Foreign Office

On November 27, 2019 Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Askhat Orazbay met a recently appointed Director General for Eurasia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mr. Ali Reza Haqiqian.

As the meeting took place on the eve of the Day of the First President of Kazakhstan and the forthcoming Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ambassador briefed the Director General on Kazakhstan's achievements in the last 28 years and a contribution of the First President Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev to it, as well as on the last developments in the country. In particular, he told about transition of power happened this year in Kazakhstan and the election of the new President Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Kazakh diplomat also informed his Iranian colleague about the Address to the Nation delivered this year by the new President, explaining in details its priority aspects.

During the meeting the diplomats also thoroughly discussed issues related to the bilateral relations of Kazakhstan and Iran including following up agreements reached within the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister to Nur-Sultan conducted in November this year and a visit of the Kazakh President Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Iran being planned for 2020.
