On May 25, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan held a briefing for representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps to inform about the export potential of Kazakhstan's defense and aerospace industry and the opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation with foreign partners.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibit Atamkulov as well as the heads of Kazakhstan's enterprises of the defense industry complex attended the event.
In his speech, the Kazakh Foreign Minister noted that the country's leadership prioritizes the accelerated development of the manufacturing industry and the production sector, including the defense industry.
“Kazakh companies are optimistic about the prospects of cooperation with foreign partners. We are establishing new diplomatic opportunities for cooperation in the sphere of the defense industry complex” Abdrakhmanov said.
”Today, the defense industry complex of Kazakhstan has a significant export potential that plays a certain role in the economy of our country, modern models of Kazakhstan military equipment represent a high level of competitiveness. Currently, the country has established a modern space infrastructure, satellite communication and remote sensing systems of the Earth that can provide communication services as well as the images of space monitoring on the surface of the Earth,” Atamkulov said.
During the briefing, Vice Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Nurguzhin, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC Kazakhstan Engineering” Yerlan Idrissov, Deputy of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “NC Kazakhstan Engineering” Vadim Shakshakbayev, the general director of LLP “Kazakhstan Asselsan Engineering” Taryk Zia Kaboglu, the general director of LLP “Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering” Erbol Salimov, the general director of LLP “West Kazakhstan Machine-Building Company” Alibek Sultangazy, technical director of LLP “Kalam” Jean-Francois Monier presented their reports to the representatives of the diplomatic corps on the development of space projects in Kazakhstan and on the potential of the country's defense industry.
During their speeches the participants of the meeting spoke on the potential of domestic projects of the defense industry complex and space activities such as the production of light armored vehicles, heavy machine guns and other military and dual-use items, and the work of modern space infrastructure, “KazSat” satellite communication systems and remote sensing of the Earth “KazEOSat” set, the provision of services of the future space crafts complex of space vehicles in Astana were also presented.
“Our Ministry is ready for an open dialogue and building mutually beneficial cooperation relations. We are ready to organize further cooperation with stakeholders in more detailed form for specific projects of interest” Atamkulov said.
Foreign diplomats expressed willingness to take an active part in export development of Kazakhstan's products of the defense industry complex and services of Kazakhstan space enterprises as well as in active cooperation in attracting investments into the defense and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan.
Foreign ambassadors were invited to visit the defense industry complex enterprises of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of achievements in the field of space activities and the country's defense and industry complex was organized.
