Within the working visit to the Republic of Lebanon the head of the Kazakhstan defense agency Major General N. Yermekbayev got familiarized with the everyday activities of the military personnel of Kazakhstan peacekeeping contingent and its rotation process and also held negotiations with Lebanese National Defense Minister Elias Bou Saab.
During his visit to a zone of responsibility of the IndKazBat battalion, which includes the Kazakhstan peacekeeping company, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Major General N. Yermekbayev got familiarized with the everyday activities of the military personnel of Kazakhstan peacekeeping contingent and its rotationprocess.
The zone of responsibility of the Kazakhstan peacekeeping contingent directly includes the territories of the eastern part of the so-called “Blue Line", which corresponds to the internationally recognized border of Lebanon and considered to be the most disputed line of separation of the parties to the conflict.
The Kazakhstan military personnel for six months carried out tasks of maintaining peace and security in the region, performed functions on the area patrol, organization of observation posts, monitoring the cease-fire observance, assistance to the civilian population and also participated in all events conducted by the headquarters of a mission.
“The fulfillment of the peacekeeping mission is a matter of national importance. This is the fulfillment of the international obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the World community and the United Nations. The UN leadership constantly notes our country's adjusted approach in promoting international peace and security," noted the head of the defense agency of Kazakhstan speaking in front of peacekeepers.
It should be noted that for the first time in the history of the Republic of Kazakhstan the national peacekeeping company of 120 military personnel and 3 staff officers was sent to the Republic of Lebanon to carry out the mission on maintaining peace and security. The Command of the UN mission in Lebanon, as well as the IndKazBat battalion, highly evaluate the training of Kazakhstan peacekeepers.
Besides, during the visit the negotiations between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Major General N. Yermekbayev and the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lebanon Elias Bou Saab were held. Following the results of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to develop interaction between the defense agencies of Kazakhstan and Lebanon, discussed promising directions of cooperation and also shared views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
Major General N. Yermekbayev thanked the Lebanese side for their assistance in the deployment of the Kazakhstan peacekeeping company within participation in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon mission.
In turn, Mr. Elias Bou Saab thanked the Republic of Kazakhstan for the decision to contribute to the efforts on maintaining peace and security within the framework of the United Nations.

KAZCENT participated in Exhibition which took place during the Military Strategic Planning Conference 2019
The Partnerships Directorate has held their annual Military Strategic Partnerships Conference (MSPC) in Amman which was hosted by the Jordanian Ministry of Defence over the period 25-29 March 2019.
Representatives from 60 nations participated in the conference, which is the 9th Conference on Partnership subjects and initiatives. The conference is traditionally hosted by a Partner nation. This was the first Partnerships Conference held in the Middle East, reflecting the importance of partners in the region and NATO's 360-degree approach. This year also marks the 25th Anniversary for the Partnership for Peace programme and Mediterranean Dialogue frameworks.
The conference provided a venue for Partnership briefings, key leader presentations and the opportunity for Partners to engage with staff officers and supporting headquarters.
During the conference the exhibition of NATO and Partners education and training facilities took place. The exhibition was heldconcurrently with MSPC-2019. Numerous representatives from NATO Education and Training Facilities, Centres of Excellence, Partnership Training and Education Centres and other education and training providers as well as partners, which provide education and training opportunities following NATO requirements to Partners and Allies participated in the event. All exhibitors promoted their portfolios, maderecommendations to Conference participants responsible for planning partnership activities with NATO on best-suited opportunities and engaged in mutually beneficial discussions.

JFCBS Expert Team Visits KAZCENT to deliver CIMIC
In accordance with the Implementation Plan of the Individual Partnership Action Plan and Cooperation Programme between Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NATO, the “Civil-military cooperation" course was held at KAZCENT from 11th to 13th of December 2018. Published: May, 15, 2019
The course was conducted by a mobile-training team of experts from the JFC HQ Brunssum. The aim of the course was to familiarize participants with the main methods and procedures applied by NATO in preparation and conduct of civil-military cooperation operations. The course involved military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who will later be deployed to various peacekeeping missions.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted a great importance to aspects of military-civilian cooperation and coordination. In this regard, KAZCENT was tasked to build our own relevant national expertise.
